When my child was in 5th grade, we would read about a different saint each week and then reflect upon their lives. This is a beautifully illustrated book including tales and legends of different Christian Saints.
Another book we would read is
The Book of Saints & Heroes
by Andrew & Lenora Lang
This collection was written over 100 years ago, and is now again widely available. This is another wonderful collection of stories and legends to read aloud.
